Moral Day of Action

The Higher Ground Moral Day of Action in our state capitol was one of over 20 events nationwide and was an incredible and powerful event.

An inspiring group of speakers included low wage workers, faith leaders, environmental leaders and parents speaking out on the need to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour and act on issues like climate change, clean energy, education justice, criminal justice, LGBTQ rights, healthcare, immigration reform, and union rights.

Together as a group we read a Moral Declaration and then a delegation of faith leaders and impacted people from across the state delivered that declaration to the Governor’s office.

Because so many people answered the call to take a stand in this Moral Revival together we were able to garner tremendous news coverage for our issues and our fight! Our message got out across the state and across the nation (an AP reporter used photos of our action in national stories).
